Meet Dr. Jones Team
April Churchill, RDH
April is a Registered Dental Hygienist and has worked with Dr. Jones since 2006. She is a LVI Hygiene program graduate and has worked in the field of dentistry since 1998. April’s favorite thing about the practice of dentistry is the rewarding nature of helping an individual go from a diseased state to a healthy state. Her favorite thing about working with Dr. Jones is that he’s very easy going. She absolutely loves the use of the laser in dentistry – especially in the area of periodontics – and is also very interested in the mouth-body connection. April is a native of Lakeland, FL, living here since 1978. When not working, April enjoys outdoor activities and music.
Aimee Hess, Receptionist
Aimee’s duties include answer phones, check-out for patients, and scheduling and confirming appointments. She has worked with Dr. Jones in the field of dentistry since 2007. Her favorite thing about the practice of dentistry is a pretty smile and she enjoys everything about working with Dr. Jones!
Debbie Prickett, Dental Hygienist
As a Dental Hygienist, Debbie’s duties include the maintenance of patients’ mouths, patient education, X-rays, etc. A graduate of LVI Hygiene Program, Debbie has worked in the field of dentistry since 1977, with Dr. Jones since 2000. She enjoys helping patients develop healthy mouths and her favorite things about her job are the periodontal emphasis, getting to know patients, and the mutual respect of team members. Debbie’s favorite thing about working with Dr. Jones is that he does great dentistry and is easy to work for. Debbie was born in Japan, but grew up in Orlando, FL. She has lived in Lakeland since 1976. Her family includes her husband, Dan, and her sons, Davis and Dustin (who is married). When she’s not hard at work, Debbie enjoys rollerblading, quilting, the beach, and children’s ministry at church.
Kimberly Smithson, Receptionist
Kimberly’s duties consist of scheduling appointments, billing and insurance. She has worked in the field of dentistry since 1983 and with Dr. Jones since 1999. Kimberly’s favorite thing about the practice of dentistry is building and improving smiles for patients and seeing their outlook and self confidence improve. Her favorite thing about working with Dr. Jones is his faith in his team to do their job. Overall, she enjoys the patient interaction and working with a team of people that have the same goals for the practice. Kimberly is a native of Hawthorne, NV, and has lived in Lakeland, FL since 1966.
Kim Hunt, Dental Assistant
Kim’s duties as dental assistant include assisting with patients and ordering supplies. She has worked both in the field and with Dr. Jones since 1992. Her favorite thing about dentistry is making beautiful smiles. Her favorite thing about working with Dr. Jones is the care he provides for his staff and patients. Her favorite part of the job is providing exceptional dentistry to patients through the many different courses the team has taken. Some of Kim’s favorites have been Dynamic Team Concepts, Full Mouth Reconstruction, and Comprehensive Neuromuscular K-7 Training.
Kim is a native of Kentucky and has lived in Florida since 1988. When she isn’t working, Kim loves to spend time with her family, which includes husband Chris, sons Chris and Tyler, daughter Isabella, stepson Parker, and grandson Shalious.
Carey Johnson, Dental Assistant
Dental assistant since 1996. I started working with Dr. Jones and his team the same year. My favorite thing about Dr. Jones is his honesty and integrity. I feel so lucky to be in this field, and in this practice because we get to make people smile and change peoples lives almost everyday.
JWV is always aware of how to make the field of dentistry better. Our commitment to continuing education is very important,as well as our volunteer work. As a team mate I have completed the LVI Comprehensive full mouth restorative course, LVI Dynamic Team Concepts, which included some Neuromuscular studies. I have also completed the Advanced Posterior Cerac course in Texas. I enjoy my job because I get to be a part of a team that creates great relationships with our patients and at the same time we get to make people happy, whether it is getting someone out of pain or making them smile with confidence for the first time.
I am a native of Lexington Kentucky and have been in Lakeland since 1983. I have one daughter, the light of my life. We enjoy almost anything outdoors.
